Inbound Marketing. It sounds beautiful, doesn’t it? And quite illustrative, for that matter. But what do you – the marketer – do when you encounter terms such as API, meta-whatever, Saas and others of the kind? Are you confident enough you can infer their meaning from context? Wouldn’t it be better if you just plain old googled them? Yes, yes it would. OK. The first step in doing that is actually knowing what some of those specific words and phrases you might bump into in your work are. Here’s a list of the most common 17 (in no particular order):
- long-tail keywords
- above the fold
- meta description
- Alt text
- algorithms
- personalization
- content curation
- 301 redirects
- SaaS
- churn
- KPI
- RSS
- UX
- API
- CRM
- HTML
- CSS
How many of these are you familiar with?
